In brief
At this museum discover how Walsall became the British leather goods capital. The museum opened in 1988 in a renovated Victorian factory building. The museum also has a research library, as well as a cafe. Open from Tuesday to Saturday each week.

Leather Museum - details
The museum is situated between Littleton Street West and Wisemore, to the north of the Walsall ring road.

The museum is only open for five days a week, from Tuesday's to Saturday's. So if you arrive on a Sunday or a Monday, they will be closed.

The Victorian factory building runs along Wisemore, it was probably restored in the 1980s, ahead of the museum opening here in 1988.

Wasteland opposite the museum, was built on with a McDonald's Drive Thru and a Travelodge hotel in 2018. These were open by 2019.

What to expect from your visit?
The museum has two floors with seven galleries.
On the ground floor is:
1: Meeting Room, 2: Shop / Coffee Shop.
3: Introduction and Displays, 4: Tannery.
First floor:
5: Made in Walsall Gallery, 6: Temporary Exhibitions and 7: Workshops.
